With the rise of Minimum Wage, I find myself annoyed.

I work in a coffee shop, and when I started there, doughnuts, muffins, cookies, bagels and coffee, tea and hot chocolate was all free while we were working. Then awhile back muffins and cookies were taken away from us. And now, with the raise we've all just gotten, nothing is free anymore, not even when we are on duty. Also, I should mention, our staff discount used to be 50% off, for anything that wasn't free, sandwiches, pop, any other cold drinks, and no, it is only 20%. This just means that now, it's almost more worth it to pick things up when I go grocery shopping and take things with me to work. That or I just stop eating while I'm at work. And I know that that statement will send a few people into a frenzy, so calm yourselves, I'll take things to work with me.

Well that's my vent for the afternoon. I think I'm done now. I'm going to go back to watching my movie now.

  1. Yeah, it's pretty unfortunate that management decided to do that. I still remember my Tim's days, and the buffet I'd haul home with me after every night shift.

And it's good you'll be taking food to work with you. I'm sure you can imagine my thoughts on that, particularly where my little sister is concerned. But let's just hope they don't outlaw that practice in favour of profits, shall we?
